    Camino Nuevo Charter Academy (CNCA) is a community of high-performing public schools that utilizes a comprehensive approach to prepare students from preschool through high school for success in college and in life. We integrate academic rigor, community, family, and wellness to empower students to thrive in a culturally connected and changing world. Founded in 2000, Camino Nuevo Charter Academy students represent the neighborhood of MacArthur Park west of downtown Los Angeles, a community that is one of the most under-resourced and densely populated neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Currently, CNCA has eight campuses that serve over 3,500 students from pre-K through 12th grade.

     

    Camino Nuevo Charter Academy offers exciting once in a lifetime opportunities to work at our Burlington Campus.  CNCA seeks candidates who will embrace the challenge of demonstrating that public education in a low-income, primarily immigrant, multilingual area can succeed.

    Responsibilities

    The Office Manager will perform a full range of duties, including but not limited to:

    • Oversee day to day operations of the Main office.
    • Supervise the administration of all clerical procedures of main office operation.
    • Develop and maintain office/school procedures including the preparation and dissemination of information and functional supervision of the implementation of school polices and procedures.
    • Facilitate new student enrollment under direction of Administrative designee.
    • Oversee maintenance of student records including cumulative folders, SIS & Powerschool databases and assist with completion of compliance reporting under direction of Coordinator of Categorical Programs.
    • Facilitate school-wide communication including Master Calendar maintenance, Weekly Staff Bulletin generation and distribution.
    • Oversee school operations that include maintaining required forms, reporting necessary repairs, billing of families for After School Program, etc.
    • Oversee office support services and equipment including maintenance of machines (copiers, laminator, etc.)
    • Maintain, order, and distribute office and classroom supplies as needed.
    • Coordinate substitute requests and related tasks.
    • Address student and parent needs and maintain records of services provided.
    • Provide support to Administration.
    • Positive representation of school and organization in personal and telephone contacts and meetings.
    • Promote and model respectful professional climate/relationships.
    • Performs related duties assisted.

    Qualifications

     

    Applicants who possess the following skills will make the strongest candidates:

    • Bachelor's degree preferred
    • Bilingual (oral and written) Spanish/English. Read and write effectively in English and Spanish
    • Knowledge of office practices and procedures
    • Knowledge of operation of various office machines and computer programs
    • Knowledge of appropriate techniques used in giving out information in person and on the telephone
    • Work without technical supervision and take responsibility for accuracy of translation
    • Ability to edit articles for publication in English and Spanish
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
    • Ability to work effectively with school personnel and the public
    • Commitment to preserving the cultural heritage of student

     

    Temporary position will be from: Sept. 2018 through Mar. 2019
